SETTLING IN
We are dedicated to making the settling in process as smooth as possible, so that children can begin to thrive and grow in our nurturing environment.
During the taster session, our experienced staff will welcome the child with open arms and introduce them to the other children in the nursery. They will show them around the play areas, introduce them to some toys and activities, and engage them in some games to help them feel more comfortable in their new environment.
Parents are more than welcome to watch their child settle in as a way to ease any anxieties they may have about leaving their child in a new place. However, if they feel more comfortable stepping away for a short time, they are free to do so. Our staff will keep them updated on their child's progress and reassure them that their child is in good hands.
After the taster session, parents and children are invited to come back for further settling in sessions before the child's official start date at the nursery. This gradual introduction allows the child to become familiar with the routine and environment of the nursery, making their transition smoother and more enjoyable.
HEALTHY EATING
At Clever Munchkins, We believe that education is key in helping children make informed choices about the foods they eat.
We also ensure that children are taught what constitutes healthy and unhealthy foods. By teaching them about the benefits of eating a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains, we hope to instil a lifelong love of nutritious foods.
We like to work closely with parents to encourage healthy eating habits at home. We provide them with information on what constitutes a good, healthy, and nutritious meal that they can pack for their children. By involving parents in this process, we aim to create a holistic approach to promoting healthy eating habits both at home and at nursery.
When it comes to snack time at nursery, we only provide foods that are consistent with our healthy eating ethos. Our snack options are always nutritious such as a variety of fruits, vegetables, hummus, and crackers. By offering children healthy snacks, we hope to reinforce the message that nutritious foods can be delicious and satisfying.
NURSERY SETTING
Our thoughtfully arranged environment ensures that children are not only learning but also enjoying the process.
Clever Munchkins Nursery is designed to stimulate all areas of a child's development in a fun and engaging way.
Seven Areas of Learning
Our nursery setting is divided into distinct areas, each focusing on one of the seven key areas of learning and development:
-
Communication and Language: Activities and resources to enhance speaking and listening skills.
-
Physical Development: Space and equipment to promote gross and fine motor skills.
-
Personal, Social, and Emotional Development: Areas designed to foster relationships, self-confidence, and emotional well-being.
-
Literacy: A variety of books and materials to encourage reading and writing.
-
Mathematics: Games and tools to help children explore numbers, shapes, and problem-solving.
-
Understanding the World: Resources to develop knowledge about people, communities, and the environment.
-
Expressive Arts and Design: Materials for creative activities like drawing, painting, and role-playing.
Cozy Reading Corner
Our cozy reading corner provides a quiet and relaxing space for children to explore their love of books and stories. With comfy seating and a wide selection of age-appropriate books, this area is a favorite among the children, fostering a lifelong love of reading.
Flower Garden and Bird Cafe
One of the most unique and beautiful additions to our nursery is the flower garden and bird cafe. This area allows children to learn about nature and the environment first-hand. From planting seeds and watching them grow to observing birds feed, children experience the wonders of the natural world up close. This hands-on learning approach helps them develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the environment.
Engaging Environment
Our open space is designed to be inviting and stimulating, with clearly defined areas for different activities. Children have access to a wide range of resources and can move freely between areas, choosing activities that interest them. This freedom encourages independence, decision-making, and a love for learning.
At Clever Munchkins Nursery, we are committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports all areas of a child's development. We invite you to visit us and see firsthand the vibrant, engaging world we have created for your little ones.
Our nursery was selected to compete in a contest for the best garden in Luton.
Our team and children worked hard for months growing flowers, plants, and fruits in our garden.
The children helped with the entire process from planting seeds, watering, and caring for the garden. They learned about working together and taking care of nature.
On the day of the competition, our garden looked beautiful and we were happy to get second place, especially with the tough competition.
The children were proud to get a certificate and trophy. They learned that hard work pays off and grew to love gardening and nature even more.
Even though we didn't win first place, the real reward was the joy and bond we all shared in our garden.
We can't wait to grow more gardens and inspire more kids to love nature, one flower at a time.
